Under 9s victorious at Brixham

Congratulations to Spartak U9s team who won their age group of the Devon Soccer Challenge. The team faced a tough challenge in the final, but emerged victorious after a very close match. The final went through full time and extra time, and was eventually decided on penalties, with Spartak winning 3-2. The tense atmosphere resulted in a parental pitch invasion as children and parents alike celebrated the team’s efforts.

Well done to all the Spartak teams that took part in the Devon Soccer Challenge and special thanks go to Lisa and Jackie for organising another successful tour.

This year’s Christmas Party will be taking place from 7.00 p.m. to late at Hungerford Road Community Centre. Tickets cost £5.00 per family and the price includes a disco and buffet, plus a small gift for all players. This event is for members only – come along and join in the fun. Annual General Meeting 10 November 2011

The recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Bristol Spartak was attended by a number of managers, coaches and parents. It was agreed that, in line with the club’s growing popularity and membership, the existing committee will be extended so that each age group is represented on all decisions that are made. Existing committee members are: Brendan Healy (founder), Matt Lloyd (founder), Jo Goodhind (treasurer), Jackie Lloyd (secretary). The committee will be extended to include a manager and parent from each team and is in the process of being formed.

The 2011 tour has now been booked, deposits paid and places allocated. The total cost for a family of 4 with one child playing is £352. The balance remaining is due to be paid in February 2011. Brixham here we come!!
